What is financial abuse
Since the victim has little to no access to money, it could make him/her very vulnerable to violence or any other kind of abuse when he/she needs to leave the abuser forever, it would be very hard for them to do when they have no money.
Let's say if the victim manages to escape, to find a safe place to live in for a long time because of broken/spotty employment and credit card history.
How to tell if your companion is financially abusive?

If you are in a new relationship, you can try to talk with him/her if you think is necessary because what we are going to show you are just signs
Controlling Shared Assets and Resources:
Criticizing every financial decision you make
Reducing your freedom to plan or budget
Making large financial decisions without your input
Refusing to collaborate on finances

This kind of abuse is very similar to emotional abuse, but financial abuse is usually harder to overcome since it means the victim's ability to use, maintain, and even acquire money.
(ban from working by the abuser)
Even when the victim has access to money, they will have to account for every penny they spent.
Ruining your work opportunities:
Due to obsolete traditions, women in a relationship are usually forced to choose the path they don't want to which will make them very difficult to succeed and may lead to financial dependence.
